Getting Started
We’ll be there to assist you - from your
initial application through your graduation.
Step 1: Apply to Missouri
S&T
Admission application and acceptance rules for distance students are the
same as those of traditional on-campus students with only slight variations in
required forms. Go to Admissions
and Enrollment for further instructions.
Step 2: Select your class
The Schedule of
Classes will provide a listing of all distance courses offered each
semester with the catalog descriptions. Each class link will provide the
day/time of delivery, class number (needed for registration), class access
information, a photo of the professor if provided, their email address and
course syllabus. If more information is needed or some information is not
available, please contact the professor.
Step 3: Enroll in class
First time students should complete the First Time Registration
Form and Statement of Financial
Responsibility Form and submit these to DCE. Shortly after official
registration is completed, you will receive a welcoming letter providing you
important information needed to prepare you for your coursework and Missouri
S&T’s academic experience.
Step 4: Live Stream/WebEx
Testing
Our Video Communications Center (VCC) will conduct a live stream/WebEx test
each semester on the Monday before classes begin. This is to ensure that
your system is ready to go prior to your first class. Test information can
be found at http://vcc.mst.edu/index.php?id=2289.
Step 4: Accessing Your Course
Prior to class you will access your course by calling the provided 800
number and clicking on the live stream link provided on your course web
page
If there are problems accessing either live link or 800 number, please call
your class’s control room number. A live person will be there to
assist.
